BOOKING & DEPOSITS

All appointments require a deposit to secure each tattoo booking. Deposits are confirmed at the point of quotation. Deposits also go towards any research and drawing for your tattoo. Unfortunately deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable across multiple appointments or different clients. The full deposit will be deducted from the final cost of the appointment.

Appointment dates will only be confirmed once a deposit has been received. All appointments require a full name, email address and phone number via our contact form to secure the booking.

Quotations for tattoos are given as an approximate and based on an estimated length of time to complete that tattoo, however this can change if there are any last minute changes. Any subsequent appointments required will be charged in addition.

If you absolutely need to reschedule your appointment we require 48 hours notice to move you to a new time/date. We can reschedule your appointment one time only. After that, you forfeit your deposit and will need to pay a new one to make another appointment. Getting a tattoo is a time-consuming process (especially for larger tattoos), so we want to make sure you are committed before we spend time on research and drawing for your tattoo.

If you fail to attend your appointment without having contacted the studio to reschedule, your deposit will be lost. Re-booking after a ‘no show’ is at the tattoo artist’s discretion. Repeated failure to attend an appointment may result in a client being required to pay for future bookings in full upfront. Markings Tattoos reserves the right to cancel or move any appointment(s) or refuse custom to any client(s).

GENERAL TERMS

It’s important to be well prepared before your tattoo session. We recommend reading our complete guide on How to Prepare for a Tattoo Session to help ensure you feel as comfortable as possible before getting a tattoo. The guide also asks important questions about your health and provides advice on whether the tattoo procedure is suitable for you.

While all materials used in the process of tattooing are sterile, please note that in some people, infection, ink loss, allergic reaction and dryness can occur and this is not the fault of the artist. Before your session your tattoo artist will ask you to complete and sign a health questionnaire, a consent form and provide you the tattoo aftercare instructions, along with a hard copy to take away.

The Tattooing of Minors Act: 1969 means it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18. Parental consent is not accepted. This means proof of age will sometimes be requested, so always have it with you for your appointment.

The nature of tattooing means the procedure is irreversible. While we take extreme care in producing a satisfactory representation of the design you have agreed with your tattoo artist please be advised that as a client you are relying on an artist’s rendering. Tattooing cannot be guaranteed as an exact duplicate of a pre-drawn design because of exterior factors including allergies, skin type and client movement. Furthermore, over time the colour and the clarity of your tattoo will fade in case of unprotected exposure to the sun and due to the naturally occurring dispersion of pigment under the skin.

We are happy to advise on any issues that may arise from ink loss post-healing, and we recommend that you contact us around 4 weeks after the tattoo was performed so that we can see if you will need a free touch up.
